Whoops! Sorry Tom - that's a perfect solution.

I misread the email and didn't try changing the parameters. That works
absolutely perfectly [&#X1f60a]

Cheers!

Any idea who we submit this too?

You can add it to the issue tracker at:
https://github.com/internetarchive/openlibrary/issues
but the OpenLibrary staff doesn't really pay attention to it, so you should
probably also send email through the contact form:
https://openlibrary.org/contact

I realize this is probably something that won't be remedied quickly so we may
have to launch our new site without the Open Library integration.

I don't understand why you can't use the form of the URL that I suggest below
with limit & page parameters. Is there some reason that it doesn't meet your
requirements?

Tom

Has anyone successfully got a limiter in the API results from Open Library? We
are working on search integrations and if someone searches for "art" we get
10,000 results when we'd really just like 100 max.

https://openlibrary.org/search.json?q=art&limit=100&page=1

We can of course only display 100, but the data still comes back for 10,000
which just hurts performance.

It looks like something is broken with the default parameters. They should
default to something more sensible than returning all the results in a single
batch.
