I went and looked at my 1950 3100 and the spring you're referring to is about
6" long and appx 3/8" in diameter and attaches from the tab on the carb linkage
to a small hole in the flange on the lower part of the block just above the oil
pan. I've posted a couple of pics on the group photo section entitled
accelerator spring. You can see the spring in the second pic just to the right
of the exhaust pipe.

At the Roch B Carb, there is a linkage that goes down to a pivot, then
another linkage that goes to the accelerator pedal. We have all that, what
we don't have is the spring. And to make matters worse, we wouldn't know
where it attaches to.

The linkage at the carb has a tab on it with a hole a few inches down from
the carb where I assume a spring attaches. What does the spring look like,
and where does it go? It must have been a weak part of the system,
engineering wise, because all of mine are different, some using HUGE tight
springs, others using long ones, two short ones together, hose clamps and
hoses to attach the linkages, misc crap that is just annoying!

Anyone have pics? Or a place to look at a diagram or anything? This is what
I get for taking everything apart and 4 years later trying to put things
back together!

Thanks everyone!
