First off I want to thank everyone for their input. As usual, this group is
the greatest!
I went back and bled the brakes again using the suggestions that I received
and although I had a little more pedal it still wasn't quite right. So I took
Robert Baird's suggestion and rechecked the adjustments on all the brakes to
make sure they were set correctly (huck brakes). Well, I thought I had them
right on but "upon further review", as they say, I had them adjusted too far
out from the drums and it took 2 or more strokes of the pedal to engage the
brakes. Robert's suggestion was to adjust them until they engage and then back
off just enough for clearance (a couple of teeth). Worked perfectly! I have
about half a pedal travel to engage and it stops very true. Drove it quite
awhile to make sure the shoes weren't dragging - checked the drums and they
were cool as a cucumber when I got home.
Again, thanks to all. Robert I owe you a cold one the next time we meet)
