For the non screw adjuster typ regulaTORS , USE SOME CORRECTLY FITTING NEEDLE NOSE OR DUCK BILL PLIERS TO GENTLY ANMD S L O W L Y (oops) bend the lower hooks where the springs attach . I always have my ammeter connected to the generator's ARM. terminal when setting the charge rate and amperes . it's tricky work and can easily fry your electrics .
