When I installed new felt, I used small flat head screws. The heads disappeared into the felt when tightened. Bend the chrome easily so the rubber will slide inside it as you bend. Go easy. You could glue with the new glues, but you can use small self tap screws or drill for small metal screws. Small pop-rivits can be used too. Hope this will help.
