Subject: [old-chevy-truck] wiring for my 46

My 1959 261 has been rebuilt and is setting in my 46 3/4. I've
got it hotwired and it runs great. I have had the generator and starter
,that came with the 261, rebuilt. I'll be using both in my 6 to 12 volt
upgrade. My plan is to build my own wiring harness using terminal
blocks and bullit connectors. I've been studying the wiring diagrams
from the 40's & 50's and designing my own schematic and physical
layout. In the 40's they had a "polarity reversing switch" between the
coil and the distributor. What is that? I don't recall taking any thing
off during the destruction phase of my project. Do I need it? Do I
want it? What does it look like? Where can I find one?
As allways all comments are welcome. Given what I am trying to do are
there any pitfalls to watch for or suggestions on how to do it better?
