I thought about running my fuse block directly from the ignition switch too, but wasn't sure how much current the switch would handle.

It doesn't care about polarity or anything. Don't know how long the relay will last if on all the time, I ran my fuse block to the acc terminal on the switch even tho it didn't have a acc position on the key.
