Sorry, I should have clarified this.  I believe my leaf springs are shot from 
years of putting on staked side-boards and loading up the bed with wheat to 
haul to town.  I have even noticed the bed is "shimmed" up by inserting some 
cast metal pieces under the bed wood frames, certainly to help offset the 
effect of the heavy load.  Now, any dip in the road continues to lazily bounce 
the truck for three or four more bounces.  I need to get back closer to the 
stiffness it was from the factory.  Thanks for the replies.
