I just returned from the CA Zone Show at Morro Bay, CA. It was a nice show in a beautiful location. The Inn At Morro Bay is right on the ocean. It was 74 degrees on Saturday for the show. There were 61 Oldsmobiles in the show. I drove the '72 Toro to the show, a 1,303 mile round trip. The car ran flawlessly and got 17.4 mpg for the trip. It was 119 degrees coming back through the desert from Palm Springs through Indio and Blythe, Ca. and the Quartzite AZ areas. The old girl never missed a beat! I received a first in class trophy and the long distance award. 4 cars went from the Phoenix area and we figured out I was actually the farthest away. Gas ranged from $2.83 per gallon in AZ to $3.43 per gallon in suburban LA. The Toro had not gone farther than a 30 mile trip in the last 7 years but I had confidence in her. Now I have some detailing and minor work to do to get ready to go to Dallas. I also need to get the cruise control working!!!
