[OM Cooker] Problem installing RC1 from DVD

Hello,

I am seeing a similar behaviour as Rolf when installing RC1 from a DVD. 
Whatever option I choose, it loads the operating system, shows a prompt 
for a login, then blank screen for a few minutes, the a lot of red dots 
then white dots in a geometric pattern. I tried adding 'nomodset' to the 
start-up parameters, but to no avail.  I tried to get to the console, 
but couldn't.

The last DVD I was able to install was the Sep 29 one. I have seen this 
behaviour since. (Was hoping that it would go away)
