Based on what I've seen I further edited wiki to remove the listed
update steps as I'm well positive they don't work. Did this to avoid
upset disappointed users. Currently Release Notes state:
Upgrading from previous OpenMandriva Lx Releases
*Currently for 3.0 a fresh install is recommended*. There is an update
script in development. Sorry for any inconvenience.
I had hoped someone more knowledgeable about upgrade process would
address this prior to release, hope I haven't offended anyone or done
something horribly wrong. Just seems beyond dumb to have upgrade steps
in Release Notes that no one has gotten to work.

Well I hope it's OK but I changed Release Notes. Currently it
recommends a fresh install and the other stuff there is for testing.
Perhaps there should be further edit removing the stuff that is there
with a note that update script is in development please wait?
WDYT?

I don't see where release notes recommends fresh install, instead it has
this:
[...]
Which either needs to be edited to something that actually works or changed
to recommend fresh install. Otherwise we're in for a lot of complaints and a
world of hurt.

Start reading
18:50:32 <luca__> and what about migration 2014.0 -> 3.0?
and also
19:32:55 <bero|2> Who said we're forcing a fresh install?
19:33:06 <bero|2> I've said before that I'm going to provide an update
script and I'm saying it again
19:33:37 <bero|2> Fresh install is the best choice because there's so
many changes that require attention, but updating from 2014.x isn't
impossible
19:34:03 <bero|2> I just didn't have the time to write the update
script yet because the first priority is getting the 3 release right

So unfortunately we don't have a working *tested* script nor had the
warning in notes at release time :/
