Yes, samba works with zfs snapshots and allows them to be presented
via the Windows shadow copy interface.

Did you follow an install guide to get Samba running on Omnios?
Where did you get the package from? I don't see anything in the core
or "extras" repo. I see a 3.6.x in the pkgsrc repo.
