I remember this from earlier... you basically want this:

bloody(build/gcc51)[0]% pkg contents gcc-5-runtime
PATH
usr/lib/amd64
usr/lib/amd64/libgcc_s.so
usr/lib/amd64/libgcc_s.so.1
usr/lib/libgcc_s.so
usr/lib/libgcc_s.so.1
bloody(build/gcc51)[0]%

Yes.  It seems to me that this could be rolled out as a normal update.

I take it these binaries do dlopen() to find libgomp...

The dependent application or library links directly with libgomp as a normal shared library. No special dlopen() is required.
