I found another Fibre Channel card that does not work in OmniOS CE r151026:

root@claw:~# luxadm -e port

My failures so far:
Qlogic QLE2672
Emulex LPe32000 (Lancer)
Qlogic QLE2740
Can anyone reading this recommend a Fibre Channel Card known to work in r151026?
I really want to stay in OmniOS but my hand may be forced to use Solaris 11.4 :(
Thanks,
Phil

Hi Johan,
The Emulex looks fine, the Qlogic is not good:
root@claw:~# prtconf -D | grep pci1077
pci1077,249
pci1077,249
root@claw:~# prtconf -D | grep pci10df
pci10df,e333 (driver name: emlxs)
root@claw:~#
Happily, we only need one of Qlogic or Emulex to work. Both are not needed.
Unfortunately, though the driver (emlxs) appears above, no adapters are found
by fcinfo or luxadm:
root@claw:~# fcinfo hba-port
No Adapters Found.
root@claw:~# luxadm -e port
Cannot operate in the locale requested. Continuing in the default C locale
ERROR: No Fibre Channel Adapters found.
root@claw:~#
Thank you for any advice,
Phil

Ärende: [OmniOS-discuss] Recommend any FC Gen 5 or Gen 6 HBAs?
Hello everyone,
I have a new project, so everything mentioned here is with clean OS installs.
Not production.
Can anyone recommend a Gen 5 or Gen 6 (preferred) 16GB Fibre Channel HBA known
to work in r151022 or later?
I have tried, without success, to get the following Fibre Channel Cards to work
in a clean r151026 install on SuperMicro System SYS-2029P-C1R
Emulex Corporation Lancer Gen6: LPe32000 Fibre Channel Host Adapter QLogic
Corp. ISP8324-based 16Gb Fibre Channel to PCI Express Adapter
The system sees the hardware:

System Configuration: Supermicro SYS-2029P-C1R BIOS Configuration: American
Megatrends Inc. 2.1 06/29/2018 BMC Configuration: IPMI 2.0 (KCS: Keyboard
Controller Style)

Thanks for any comments,

I was writing to you before about this, and I suggested you to check the driver:
root@omni:~# prtconf -D | grep pci1077
pci1077,138, instance #0 (driver name: qlc)
pci1077,138, instance #1 (driver name: qlc) root@omni:~#
If your pci addr still is pci1077? Which it was according to your previous mail
in this issue.
Did you check that? If so, what was the output?
If it shows up empty, no driver is attached, and I'm sure no driver is
available in omnios.
I can't tell about the other Illumos distros, perhaps you check with Nexenta,
they should at least know if there is an Illumos driver or not...
Rgrds Johan
I haven't worked much with Emulex, I always thought they were complicated, and
people have reported problems with their driver.
Anyway, what I know there should(was) be a driver file in:
/kernel/drv/emlxs.conf. Check it out, it might give something....
Rgrds JK
