I apologize for my lack of clarity in earlier communications.
In my snv_97 rules of engagement note [1], when I wrote that "the onnv_97
gate will *NOT* open immediately after onnv_96 closes. Instead, there will
be a delay of 12-24 hours while we change filesystems and mountpoints and
such," what I really meant to say was:
As of 23:00 PDT on Monday, August 4, the ON gate will close, and
will remain closed until further notice.
And when I wrote that "Beginning on Tuesday, August 5, we will begin
taking integrations to the new, Mercurial gate. The first few such
integrations will be by invitation of the gatekeepers, and will be
coordinated to ensure that everything on the gate and build machines is
working as expected," what I really meant to say was:
You may not push to the new Mercurial gate until we tell you it's
OK to do so.
As it is now well past the aforementioned time, allow me to repeat myself:
the ON gate is closed until further notice.
Thank you.

PS Yes, I'm a litle bit cranky. Someone just attempted to push to the new
gate, which we have barely created, let alone finished setting up.
