Official policy is for the ON gatestaff to say, but in the end, it working is by the effort of ON developers. I intend to keep it up to date, as I intend to keep both my build systems and ON bits reasonably recent. Any help in finding, filing, and fixing bugs as they arise is greatly appreciated. But, I generally expect we won't see many 'tough luck' situations -- just new packages required. (I personally expect the default ON build environment will eventually switch to OpenSolaris/an IPS-based distro, but won't speculate about timescales.) liane
