Howdy gatelings,

The Solaris PAC has asked me to pass on the following guidelines regarding
the open builds between now and when we close 2010.03, currently scheduled
for build 134. The current schedule [1] says:

* 127-130: open
* 131-132: bug fixes, escalations, device drivers
* 133-134: stopper fixes

So this note is generally applicable to all these builds, though specifically
meant to clarify what "open" means for 127-130. Anything low-risk and low-
impact is fine for these builds. For medium- and high-risk and -impact RFEs,
please consult the ON S10u9 Dashboard at the following (internal) URL:

        http://surl/s10u9_ptl

(For external contributors, apologies that the information at this URL is
only available internally; please assume that anything you are working on
is not targeting S10u9 unless you have been explicitly told otherwise by
your internal partner/sponsor.)

Anything listed there is "blessed" and OK for these builds. Anything that
is not listed there and only needed for Solaris Next is not blessed, which
doesn't mean that such things can't come in, but that they should be reviewed
more carefully, and if the risk or impact is excessive, steered towards the
next open build after 2010.03 (i.e., 135 under the current schedule). And
as always, anyone with any doubts is always welcome to consult with me about
how to proceed.
