=== *Description* ============================================================
Category
    consolidation
Sub-Category
    os-net-pkgs
Description
While running a minimized installation of snv_134 on a Lenovo Thinkpad T61,
I
noticed that upon the upgrade from SC:CE 130 to OpenSolaris build 134 I had
lost access to the DVD-ROM drive. While the ata driver had attached, sd had
not.
Upon further investigation, it turned out that /kernel/drv/sd.conf was missing,
which is in driver/network/platform, together with the 32-bit sd driver, while
the 64-bit sd driver is in system/kernel. Such a split does not make any sense,
and while there are some network drivers in driver/network/platform, both
/etc/bootrc and /etc/mach are certainly not. The first (bootrc) is probably
superfluous with the move to grub, and /etc/mach makes much more sense in
system/kernel.
Frequency
    Always
Regression
    no
Steps to Reproduce
Install a 64-bit system without driver/network/platform and try to access
a IDE DVD-ROM drive.
Expected Result
    Works as before.
Actual Result
    sd driver doesn't attach.
Error Message(s)
None, which makes this hard to diagnose.
