  Type: Defect
  Subtype:
  Status: 10-Fix Delivered
  Substatus:
  Priority: 3-Medium
  Introduced In Release: solaris_2.0
  Introduced In Build: solaris_2.0
  Responsible Engineer: <User 1-5Q-14322>
  Keywords: opensolaris, pkg-refactoring

=== *Description* ============================================================
Category
   sysadmin
Sub-Category
   pkg_commands
Description
Packages resp. applications that must deliver technical/application accounts
depend on the /export directory to exist on the system (i.e. /export/home);
currently, this directory entry is delivered as part of the SUNWscpr "utilities
for user interface and source build compatibility with SunOS 4.x" package.
The proposal is to move the
d none export 0755 root sys
package prototype entry to be part of the SUNWcsr "core software for a specific
instruction-set architecture" package, so that /export would always be
delivered with the operating system without having to install the SunOS 4.x
compatibility package.
Frequency
   Always
Regression
   Solaris 8
Steps to Reproduce
   % /usr/sbin/pkgchk -l -p /export
NOTE: Couldn't lock the package database.
Pathname: /export
Type: directory
Expected mode: 0755
Expected owner: root
Expected group: sys
Referenced by the following packages:
        SUNWscpr
Current status: installed
Expected Result
   % /usr/sbin/pkgchk -l -p /export
NOTE: Couldn't lock the package database.
Pathname: /export
Type: directory
Expected mode: 0755
Expected owner: root
Expected group: sys
Referenced by the following packages:
        SUNWcsr
Current status: installed
Actual Result
   % /usr/sbin/pkgchk -l -p /export
NOTE: Couldn't lock the package database.
Pathname: /export
Type: directory
Expected mode: 0755
Expected owner: root
Expected group: sys
Referenced by the following packages:
        SUNWscpr
Current status: installed
Error Message(s)

Test Case

Workaround
   removef SUNWscpu /export
removef -f SUNWscpu
installf SUNWcsr /export
installf -f SUNWcsr
Note that the above described workaround would most likely not survive an
upgrade, since SUNWcsr currently isn't delivering /export as a part of its
payload.

=== *Public Comments* ========================================================
Now that we've moved to IPS, this causes compatibility/ucb to fail uninstall:

ActionExecutionError: Requested operation failed for package

Unable to remove //home; it is in use as a mountpoint.
To continue, please unmount the filesystem at the target location and try
