Once on use case discussion meeting, I heard that adoption of heat is in order
to avoid separated calls to nova, cinder, … and so on which are always
evolving. Heat behaves as orchestrator of infrastructure layer.

To help R1, is there any Heat adapter or converter? Considering the function
freeze date is very close, we have to settle down the interface between two
parties. Can you propose some slot next Monday to discuss the block issue?

Thanks,

Xinhui

Hi,

I think it makes more sense for the Tosca orchestrator to use the multivim api
endpoint directly rather than Heat.

Subject: RE: Sync up between SO and Mutl VIM/Cloud

Hi Dewayne,

We have had a question to clarify for the VCPE Usecase w.r.t the way SO would
pass the data to cloud.
1. Currently its confirmed by the Multi Vim that APPC would interact with Multi
VIm only for the healing flow.
2. This would bring the same question we had last SO meeting on how ARIA engine
based flow works with Heat calls, where,
I remember you were provinding some way the output of ARIA could be convereted
to Heat.

Please provide us your views

Best Regards,
Seshu

Subject: Re: Sync up between SO and Mutl VIM/Cloud
Thanks for your attending to this meeting.

On this meeting, we went through the Multi VIM/Cloud R1 scope and API design;
how the keystone proxy of multi VIM works with SO heat adaptor for the
integration with moderate change. The two teams agree on this way for existing
MSO BPMN flow in SO. Please refer to
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Contributions<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__wiki.onap.org_display_DW_Contributions&d=DwMF-g&c=uilaK90D4TOVoH58JNXRgQ&r=14DWHoQdlEcTDc7RcGLzzkS0IMYLAIocLc5dNQRKqgk&m=5A3OdfGTOLecH6sk_FOrn4nwEiw_6cJdAvk6de8zxII&s=0D8NI902TpdFI2n4UfxuDLNlaLtifzukXxhBIVxrrOE&e=>
 for the chart showed today.

Another discussion is about create/delete based scaling vs. Heat/VIM scaling.
Both the two teams think the primary change between the two ways is on Heat
Template and will see if it is practical to change from use case support
perspective.

In the next step, Seshu will identify the focal point in SO team to work with
Ethan from Multi VIM/Cloud team settling down the integration point for R1
delivery. Another follow up is to clarify how ARIA engine based flow works with
Heat calls (Seshu will help to raise the email thread for further discussion).

Thanks,

Xinhui

Hi Xinhui,

Thanks for the consideration.

I prefer to have this with most of the SO and Multi Vim members able to attend,
now that we have initiated the initial talk.

How about Thursday 20/07 morning 9:00 am CST?

We can discuss about this in tomorrow nights call of SO and conclude.

Best Regards,
Seshu

Seshu,

Please help to propose time for a follow up discussion. From yesterday’s week
meeting, there are several other SO team members seems interested too. Please
see if copy them here to find a proper time for most of us.
