Hi Kevin, All. This is a very significant change since gitweb links are widely used in scripts, documentation, demos, presentations, product tooling, etc., and many of those links cannot just be easily replaced with github links ☹ Dead links just make us all look poor!
Is there any way to get those gitweb links working again? Perhaps with some form of url redirection, or with throttled or restricted access to gitweb? Do you foresee that this gitweb disablement is really temporary? - Vanessa mentioned elsewhere that attempts using Cloudflare bot protection are not working great. In addition, by disabling gitweb, the Gerrit web interface is now severely restricted in its usefulness. If gitweb is removed, and not replaced with something similar, I guess it raises the question of why are we bothering with LF Gerrit at all if more & more functionality is provided by Github? Especially if we can no longer rely on LF-hosted Gerrit as the stable canonical source for code artifacts. BR, John PS: Many LF/LFN projects have this same problem – not just ONAP. My concerns and questions apply equally for those projects too. This will help keep Gerrit fully functional. Repository access and normal Gerrit workflows will continue to work as usual, but gitweb links will stop working. If your docs or Jenkins jobs rely on gitweb URLs, please update them to use the GitHub mirror links instead. In particular, links to specific files under https://gerrit.onap.org/ may stop working and should be replaced with the corresponding links under https://github.com/onap.
