Tuesday 4th, 5th and Thursday 6th April 2006 for LF tests
LF DX expiriments. Bob ZL2CA and Mike ZL4OL will be trying for two-way
QSOs around 137 kHz over Wednesday and Thursday nights. The booking is
from noon Wednesday 5th to noon Friday 7th April.
LF activity will take place during hours of local darkness on 5 and 6
April with the main objectives being to attempt two-way contacts.
ZM2E is the special call sign for LF transmission from Quartz Hill
(the HF call sign being ZL6QH). Closer to April, once we have worked
out details for starting QSOs, we will publish times when ZM2E is
likely to be transmitting, which can be used as a "beacon signal" by
other parties.
The transmission will be long dot length FSK, with frequencies
137.7890 and 137.7886 kHz, with a tolerance of less than 0.1 Hz. The
dot length will be whatever is considered to be appropriate for
prevailing propagation, but starting from 120 seconds (FSK120).
