Clearing up to mostly sunny skies. Moderate southwesterly winds shifted westerly then eventually northwest which sent us to the South Lookout at 2pm (1pm EST) where it continued to be hot and sunny with winds shifting around a bit and eventually weakening. Quite warm with temps reaching the mid 80s. Raptor Observations: Once it cleared up in the mid-morning we had an excellent flight high overhead that consisted mainly of Broad-winged Hawks, with a few groups of Turkey Vultures and a decent number of Bald Eagles mixed in. After moving to the South Lookout we had a couple hundred more Turkey Vultures and a few dozen broad-wings. Notable totals for the day included 787 Broad-winged Hawks, 256 Turkey Vultures, and 82 Bald Eagles.
