Writer have a powerful and easy to use cross reference system, but there is room for improvements.
For example, I have a document with +60 headings on four levels: in such situation searching the right heading on the cross reference menu is time consuming. A good addition to Insert → Fields → Other → Cross-reference tab could be a "filter" that permits to narrow the search.
