Symphony UI is mainly written by Java code, such as Menu bar, toolbar, the editor perspectives, that may not be simply directly migrated to AOO, we need write refresh native code for AOO.
I have the same boring feeling when I use AOO. The main impression is the gray UI as the student said, it is not beautiful as other softwares, which provide colorful themes, and people are permitted to switch to their favorite one.
