The later Windows x86 versions of OpenOffice and LibreOffice seem to install
and operate on the Windows 8 Community Preview with no problems. I have tested
on the x64 version of Windows 8 CP.

They run on the desktop in the usual way. The icons show up nicely on the
Metro Start Page also.

Basically, anything that runs on Windows 7 should run on Windows 8 in the same
manner.

There is no project build of Apache OpenOffice for Windows 8 on Atom
processors, Windows RT. The changes required for that might be quite extensive.
