Nice to hear your problem is solved. Note that when installing or
removing extensions there is no need to reboot the computer, simply
restart OpenOffice (for this, you have to close the Quickstarter, on
some Windows system it is a little hidden on the system tray).

No, there are no consequences (I told to disable the extensions instead
of removing them because removing shared extensions require sometimes
administrative privileges that the current user may not have).
