Don't think you should, Mark :-). That might have been the original intention, but times have changed. It is good, nowadays, for Rexx programs to run on as many platforms as possible. So 'Sys' functions should -- if at all possible -- do 'System' things (as opposed to 'language' things), in the same way on all platforms, perhaps?
