Greetings Mark, I tested your example code on the test copy I have installed on Ubuntu 8.04 x64 and it behaved properly.
So something must have gone wrong between that snapshot and now. The package I am yet testing on that server is as follows: ooRexx-4.1.1-7594.debian50.x86_64.deb I hope that helps you narrow down the error.
