In today's world size does not matter anymore (not even on a phone). It simplifies the handling/installation for my students, who have quite a few Macs and who already possess M1s believe it or not. (There would be a single installation package only, no matter whether the target Mac is x86_64 or arm64. They are not able to mix them up, etc.) > - ooRexx currently builds fine (and fast!) on M1 My students are not able to do so (and probably not many Rexx programmers would be able to do so as well). > - there should be a decision on what to distribute. The idea here was to graft the necessary CMake definitions to get the choice of creating universal binaries from looking up what Enrico did to enable that. > Personally, I would be fine with a Mac distribution for X86_64 and another > for ARM64/aarch64 - we > have separate Windows distributions also, and in fact it would be great if > someone built it for > Power on the Mac because not everybody I know got rid of those. One thing here that would help is, that RexxLA somehow can get a certificate for signing the Mac (but also the Windows) binaries. > > But: that is no reason not to integrate the patch with the option.
