Well, Walter, if you knew what the problem was ... It seems perfectly reasonable to be for the interpreter to treat 'call' there as the name of a control variable (as that's all that is allowed there). But in this case I suppose "loop has no control variable but one is specified" might be more accurate -- but perhaps is just as confusing? Mike
