Installing the debian 11 package worked, thanks. I too got an error
message at the end of the install process. Poked around, and I think
(not tested) that the problem can be worked around by setting global
write access (chmod 777) on the .deb file.

Remember that ooRexx is build for 64 bit, you are not by any chance
running a 32 bit version of Debian? I do not think that will work

Does ooRexx actually require 2.38 (over 2.36)? If so, has anyone
updated Debian 12? can you share the method?
If not, can we have a build that refers to 2.36?
