umm... I haven't been slinging much Rexx lately, much less teaching
it, but did I miss an ANSI enhancement to the assignment instruction?
Syntax and Language Features
Instruction Types and Basic Syntax
REXX instructions fall into three main categories: assignments,
keyword instructions, and commands. Assignments bind the result of an
expression to one or more symbols using the equals sign (*=*), as in
*total = 0* or, with templates for pattern matching, *first second =
"apple banana cherry"*, which assigns "apple" to *first*and "banana"
to *second*while leaving "cherry" unassigned.
I always thought that was why we needed PARSE and its templates.

Greetings ooRexx'ers,
This morning I learned of Grokipedia.
The site already has a page for Rexx:
https://grokipedia.com/page/Rexx
and OS/2 as well:
https://grokipedia.com/page/OS%2F2
It might be a useful site, so thought to share my finding.
I am thankful,
