There is also the "invent a new word and define it to mean exactly what we want it to mean" method. But it is difficult to coin a new word and avoid existing words/meanings in all languages. E.g. the famous case of the Chevy Nova. So new words end up being very strange things like Exxon. Even then I think of the flow control X-ON X-OFF. As nice as it would be to avoid politics, I doubt it will be possible. Lots of things sound strange until you get used to them. Does the name have to be FOO Hardware Foundation? Perhaps Foundation for the Promotion of Documented Hardware Foundation for the Promotion of Documented Electronics Foundation for the Promotion of Documented Devices Foundation for the Promotion of Documented Products Longer, but more descriptive. Friends of Documented Hardware Friends of Documented Electronics Friends of Documented Devices Friends of Documented Products If we can find a suitable word begining with p we could have: People Promoting Properly P---- Products or P5 for short.
