Ok, but effect that you want is just static, it's a visual effect not an animation, right?
Exactly. Also, you're the artist, not me, so don't try too hard to do what I'm suggesting if you think it sucks.
(otherwise I can do nothing) I can refine the slide previously sent, and export it as jpg (without the kde's bar of course) Or make a gimp file.
Here the wallpaper http://lucmars.perso.orange.fr/ava/oscon_ogp.tar.gz There're a jpeg and the gimp file I hope that you'll find it fine.
That is excellent! I've tried making a few changes to it myself, but every time I try to edit the text, GIMP crashes. I think that the zooming-up effect isn't quite what I was after, and I don't think I can explain well what it is that I'm imaging. But in any case, removing the smaller of the two OGP logos looks really good. The other thing is that the title of the presentation is "Toward True Open Hardware", with the rest of it being a subtitle. I'm thinking that for consistency with the programme, we might want to squeeze that in towards the top (perhaps below the OGP logo). Then maybe consider shrinking the font on the "Open Source Hardware & The Open Graphics Project" just a little, particular if that helps things fit nicely. I'm told that projectors do surprisingly well with dark backgrounds and dark text, as long as there is SOME contrast, so I think that the color scheme and gradients you did will look spectacular. Now, let's see if I can pester you to do artwork for the rest of the slides. Unfortunately, they're not QUITE done yet. I have lots of emails to go through to see suggestions.
