Will follow up with more details later with contrib files, but today just
happened to be a good day to see our GeoRSS functionality working in Evergreen
(since not all our bib records get coded with MARC 034):

What you're seeing is the "footprint" of recently added maps plotted as a
bounding box on Google Maps. Footprint data is being parsed / transformed from
MARC 034 data: http://tinyurl.com/4kc5crw. Most catalogue 034 the "traditional
way" so the xsl checks and converts (if necessary) to more machine readable
coordinates required by map clients/servers.

The link back to record details is using 901|c -- but in the 1.6.x series, the
901 is not automatically generated for new records (but will be in version
2.0). The above link is pointing to recently added records. So what will happen
in version 2.0 is the popup descriptions will have title's linked to the
respective record detail page, setting the stage for futher mashup-o-ronies.
All those years of cataloguing 034 and now we're finally able to do something
with the data!

More thoughts on this later for where we'd like to see this go, etc.
