Hello, In the official docs you can find this section that goes over importing records. Though there are other methods that can be used that I beleive scale better when the number of records is really large.
http://docs.evergreen-ils.org/2.8/_migrating_from_a_legacy_system.html This is an older recommendation of how to clean up the sample data. Not sure how it may need to be updated nowadays, but it could give you an idea of where to start. Of course you will want to have a backup of your DB before doing this in case something goes wrong. http://evergreen-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=scratchpad:setup ".... The following SQL can be used to delete the sample branches: BEGIN; DELETE FROM actor.org_unit WHERE id > 1; DELETE FROM actor.org_address WHERE id > 1; DELETE FROM actor.workstation WHERE owning_lib > 1; COMMIT; ..." I am sure others will have better recommendations, Yamil On Thu, Jul 16, 2015 at 11:56 AM, Artie Ball < ab...@dovergramboys.kent.sch.uk> wrote: > Hi All, > > > > I have a new install of Evergreen up and running and I am now ready to > start importing data from our legacy library system. > > > > I have two questions really…. > > > > 1) How can I easily get rid of the demo data that is currently in > the system? > > 2) Is there a good guide anywhere for transferring data from a > legacy system into Evergreen, bearing in mind that I would like to maintain > the lending relationships that currently exist in the legacy system. > > > > > > > > Best Regards > > Artie > > > > Artie Ball > > Network Manager > > Dover Grammar School for Boys > > Tel: 01304 206117 Ext: 144 > > Mob: 07500 007 747 > > > > > ------------------------------ > [image: Avast logo] <https://www.avast.com/antivirus> > > This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. > www.avast.com <https://www.avast.com/antivirus> > > > -- > This message has been scanned for viruses and > dangerous content by *MailScanner* <http://www.mailscanner.info/>, and is > believed to be clean. > -- -------------------------------- Yamil Suarez, MCS Library System Administrator/Developer Stan Getz Library Berklee College of Music 1140 Boylston St Boston, MA 02215 ysua...@berklee.edu 617-747-2617
