I try to connect a qnap NAS with my openSuSE 11.3 box. In the yast
module the volumes are detected correctly. Also creating a primary
partition of type 83 with "fdisk /dev/sdb" works without any problems.
But when I try to format that partition I get loads of errors. There
are three types of errors which are repeated very often:

Nov 2 10:38:55 mailserver kernel: [609129.940324] Buffer I/O error on
device sdb1, logical block 397065
Nov 2 10:38:55 mailserver kernel: [609129.940326] lost page write due
to I/O error on sdb1

Nov 2 10:38:55 mailserver kernel: [609129.941349] sd 6:0:0:0: [sdb]
Unhandled error code
Nov 2 10:38:55 mailserver kernel: [609129.941351] sd 6:0:0:0: [sdb]
Result: hostbyte=DID_TRANSPORT_DISRUPTED driverbyte=DRIVER_OK
Nov 2 10:38:55 mailserver kernel: [609129.941354] sd 6:0:0:0: [sdb]
CDB: Write(10): 2a 00 00 80 51 3f 00 04 00 00
Nov 2 10:38:55 mailserver kernel: [609129.941361] end_request: I/O
error, dev sdb, sector 8409407

Nov 2 10:38:55 mailserver iscsid: Kernel reported iSCSI connection
4:0 error (1020) state (3)
Nov 2 10:38:58 mailserver iscsid: connection4:0 is operational after
recovery (1 attempts)

Has anybody an idea what is wrong, and what I can do to format/use
this iscsi volume. The NAS works fine with other clients. The version
of open iscsi is 2.0.870 release 32.1
Thanks for any help
