Role: SQL Developer Duration: Above 5 months Location: New York, NY 10007 Only Candidates with GC/EAD-GC/USC SCOPE OF SERVICES: The Mayor’s Office of Contract Services (“MOCS”) has compliance and oversight responsibilities in the NYC procurement and sourcing processes, and helps City agencies achieve their programmatic goals; to provide technical and legal assistance to agencies and vendors; and above all, to constantly improve contract management practices. MOCS currently utilizes a custom, Documentum-based system to manage the workflow, documentation, approvals and data of relevant sourcing and procurement activities. The goals of the project are to seek improvements to the existing system and process. Responsibilities: • Assist in documenting current database system business processes as written documents and flow diagrams. • Assist in the development of SQL Server back-end system procedures. • Contribute in building ETLs / SSIS packages as needed. • Integrate future SQL Server back-end with MS Access front-end. • Work with the team in planning and migrating data from legacy system into future system. • Various maintenance responsibilities of future system as needed, including roll-out of upgrades. Deliverables: • SQL Server back-end components. • MS Access front-end integrated components. • Various technical documents as needed, i.e. development manual, system process flows, etc. MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: The preferred candidate must possess: • At least 4 years of strong experience with SQL Server development. • Experience with Microsoft Access database integration with SQL Server. • Experience developing ETLs / SSIS packages. • Proficiency in data clean-up techniques. • Good understanding of needs and methods of migrating data from legacy database systems. • Good oral and written communication and the ability to write organized technical documentation, i.e. system process flows, user operation manuals, etc. • Must be able to work under schedule pressure and meet deadlines. DESIREABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: • Ability to write system test scenarios. • Knowledge of VBA coding.
