This position works directly with enterprise data in GEIS-supported systems
and elsewhere in the enterprise as necessary. The customer-focused incumbent
will be energetic, motivated, and analytical, with a focus on data quality
and how it impacts the customer experience. Candidates must be
team-oriented, proactive, organized and agile in order to function in a
changing, fast-paced work environment.



*Accountabilities:*

   - Provides consultation and analysis whenever enterprise data is in
   question. Supports business analysts as necessary, through provisioning of
   information, statistics & trends with respect to enterprise data. Responds
   to requests for data housed in GEIS systems.
   - Works within GEIS and cross-functionally in support of Master Data
   Management, representing enterprise data in resolution of operational
   issues; suggests best practices with respect to ongoing data mastery and
   vigilance; works with development organization/system owners to ensure data
   standards are met.
   - Conducts data analysis to identify opportunities to standardize data,
   improve matching & linking, and enhance data quality.
   - Investigates and develops processes to define and implement ongoing
   data quality vigilance solutions aimed at ensuring data quality levels are
   met.
   - Implements ETL processes to gather data from various sources as
   necessary to prepare data for analysis and other exercises.
   - Recommends data quality technology and solutions to enhance customer
   satisfaction and loyalty.
   - Conducts root-cause analysis using data quality tools, scripting and
   coding as necessary to resolve data quality issues.



*Qualifications: *

   - 5+ years of manipulating data in a professional IT environment. Hard
   working, detail oriented and organized.
   - Can apply critical thinking and analytical problem solving skills to
   complex data issues.
   - Experienced in performing discovery and profiling on structured data.
   - Ability to develop and/or leverage a proven methodology for routinely
   exposing data trends and data quality issues.
   - Experienced in dealing with data files in excess of ten million rows -
   understanding of load and how to work within hardware constraints to achieve
   results.
   - Ability to enlist tools, scripting capabilities and code writing skills
   while working with data (not dependent on any one means to do the job).
   - Working experience with relational database solutions such as MySQL, MS
   Access, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle; able to envision, create, populate,
   query, update and maintain relational databases; ability to identify sets
   and subsets of information across multiple joins or unions of tables.
   - Knowledge of tools & techniques supporting data profiling, data
   transformation and fuzzy matching/linking.
   - Knowledge of industry standard data quality and data profiling tools
   such as IBM Quality Stage, Information Analyzer, DataFlux, Trillium, etc. is
   a plus.
   - BA/BS in Engineering, Computer Science or Business, MBA a plus.
   - 2+ years experience C++
   - 2+ years experience Java
   - 2+ years experience HTML
   - 2+ years experience JSP
   - 2+ years experience Servlets
