PLEASE KEEP RATE AS LOW AS POSSIBLE* *Location: Hartford, CT* *Duration: 9 months* * * *Description/Required Skills:* *- Java, HTML, CSS, ASP, PSP, web development, Blaze Web Development: Creative professionals design, develop and maintain client web sites, graphical user interfaces (GUI) and web-based solutions for content presentation.* *- More specifically, these individuals are responsible for working closely with clients to identify and interpret specific business needs requiring visual deliverables and to develop the web- based creative products to meet those needs.* *- Application Developers: work closely with clients, business analysts, and team members to provide IT and business-specific knowledge and expertise, and create solutions that are aligned with business and IT strategy and in compliance with the organization's architectural standards.* *- Application Developers have a strong knowledge of programming languages in use by the organization, as well as a strong knowledge of system development and integration and project management.* *- They maintain a solid understanding of current and emerging IT products, services, processes, and methodologies.* *- The purpose of Bond IT is to provide excellent service to the Bond organization.* *- This service takes the form of fulfilling business requests relating to system enhancements, regulatory requests, as well as fixing defects.* *- Bond IT emphasizes responsiveness, and organizational leanness.* *- Client looks at the big picture rather than only line items, stress preventing problems rather than solving them, and are very results oriented. * *- To meet these goals IT staff works in close partnership with the Business organization.* *- Developers work closely with clients, business analysts, and peers to provide IT and business-specific knowledge and expertise, in order to create solutions that align with business and IT strategy and in compliance with the organization's architectural standards.* *- A Developer works on multiple maintenance requests at a time.* *- They work on small to large, moderately complex requests that may require skill in multiple technical environments and disciplines.* *- The developer is continually looking to increase business application knowledge as well as technical knowledge in order to provide the best possible solutions to business requests.* *- Additional helpful technical experience to have includes C++, Solaris (UNIX) operating system, CVS source code management, TOAD, and FTP.* *- While not required, a large asset to have for this position is experience in Property and Casualty insurance, and more specifically in Bond Surety and Fidelity insurance.* *- There is a Developer test that will need to be completed and passed prior to any interview.* *Professional Requirements:* *- Ability to work in a team environment and independently.* *- Willingness to learn new technologies and apply them.* *- Strong communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical users.* *- Self motivated, strong sense of ownership/acoutability, and results oriented with the ability to manage time and schedules effectively.* *- Ability to construct effective relationships.* *- A developer who understands the value of good WEB site design, who can explain what that means, and have a body of work to prove it.* *- Experience with object oriented development.* *- Ability to understand and follow project lifecycle guidelines and standards.* *Web Developer:* *- Client is looking for an ECommerce developer with in depth understanding of J2EE Web Application Development with intermediate but solid knowledge in these tools and platforms.* *- Experience and skill designing & developing Web Pages using HTML, DHTML & Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).* *- Fluent HTML scripting including complex tables, frames, image maps and browser incompatibilities / idiosyncrasies and resolving diverse screen resolutions.* *- Experience and skill in scripting using Java Script / VB Script.* *- Solid Understanding of how information is deployed on the WEB.
