This also utilizes SQL Server and Crystal Reports. Potential for future full-time employment. Complete Description: This position will initially be working in a team with other programmers to add data entry and reporting screens to an existing VB.net application using SQL Server 2008 and Crystal Reports 2008. Later, there will be work in another team converting a Microsoft Visual Basic 6 (VB6) application to VB.net, and converting Crystal Reports 8.5 reports generated by the application to Crystal Reports 2008. In addition to working with staff in the agency, coordination with a consulting firm will be required, as will the need to follow programming and design guidelines. This programming will be "fat client" programs, and will not utilize HTML. The first project will be enhancements and expansions to a grant tracking system for the Solid Waste Division at ADEQ. Later projects will involve the Department's main permit and facility tracking system. ADEQ utilizes Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, SQL Server 2008, and Crystal Reports 2008. The ability to read and understand VB6 code and the ability to readily develop VB.net code are necessary. A working knowledge of SQL queries and the use of stored procedures is also necessary. Knowledge of Crystal Reports 2008 is a plus. "Programmer Programmers typically are involved in maintenance (including production support), enhancement and development work. Programmers have a range of skills and knowledge of the technologies used and applications supported by the Application Team. The Programmer works with the Functional Architect and Technical Architecture Specialist on an as needed basis to ensure that design and code meets customer requirements. PR 1 Years of Relevant Experience: Less than 2 years Preferred Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study; degree-completion eminent is also acceptable Role Description: Code enhancement and development programs and/or required fixes to production problems using the functional and technical programming standards. Test enhancement and development programs. Participate in structured code reviews / walkthroughs. Execute all required process steps. Create and provide content for operational documentation to Technical Writers. Utilize configuration management tools, design tools, debugging tools, and any other environment specific tools necessary to create, test, and implement an application. Research problems before approaching the Team Lead or Functional Architect for assistance. Limited functional knowledge. Follow quality standards.
