Title: Oracle DBA Location: Brooklyn, NY. Project end date: 2/1/2013 This requires in-person interview. There will not be any telephonic interviews. Please make sure the candidates have been focused in a dedicated DBA (with Data Warehousing) role for at least the last 5 years. Candidates must also posess solid experience in Oracle 11g RAC in a Linux environment. Programmers with DBA skills will not be considered. Qualification: • Must be a technical hands-on person able to demonstrate 5-10 years of experience working as an Oracle DBA in data related projects (building Data Warehouses). Candidates without recent Oracle experience will not be considered Minimum Years Required: 5 Qualification: • Demonstrated expertise in identifying DB performance (optimizing SQL queries) and scalability bottlenecks – both recommending and coding solutions is a must. Minimum Years Required: 5 Qualification: • In depth Oracle Database Administration, High Availability and clustering experience in an Oracle 11g RAC in Linux environment. Minimum Years Required: 5 Qualification: • Expert understanding of the Oracle database architecture, database administration and security Minimum Years Required: 5 Qualification: • Deep understanding of relational DBMS, SQL & PLSQL development - writing stored procedures, functions & triggers. Candidates will be asked to demonstrate their SQL knowledge in depth in the interview. Minimum Years Required: 5 Desired Skills • Big 4 consulting experience within a DW practice. • Experience with SOA principles. • Knowledge of XML • Understanding of real time technologies related ESB/SOA and how they connect to near real time CDC tools and ETL tools. • Experience with Datastage. • Experience in the Education space with knowledge of assessments software. • Prior experience working in the DOE or another city agency. • Experience with one or more of the following database engines: (Teradata, Netezza, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
