Title: Tandem DBA Location: Wilmington, DE Duration: 6-12 Months
As a Tandem Database Administrator, you will administer, maintain and utilize policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the Tandem databases. Implement data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. Support production DBA in daily or emergency procedures to resolve issues. Lead the efforts of installing and maintaining database management software. You will work with the Information Architect and Database Designer to help implement the physical data model. Help develop and validate the database implementation plan. Create database objects and maintain their physical organization/relationships. Support the data loads into the databases. Ensure that the application, and any enhancements, interact efficiently with the database. Develop and implement database performance monitoring process and analyze monitoring data for performance optimization opportunities. Create/Implement database maintenance plan to ensure data integrity. Manage the on-site backup and recovery process and/or support the off-site backup and recovery teams• Plan for and execute any required database upgrades and migration (patches etc.) Qualifications • Minimum 5 years of work experience as a Tandem Database Administrator • Solid skills in database performance factors, monitoring tools and tuning procedures • Strong Tandem Database Management skills, including backup and recovery procedures • Solid skills in productivity factors and ability to understand impact of problem on overall database performance • Knowledge of fault detection and resolution processes • Strong skills in maintenance tools and procedures • Minimum three years of experience with database software — i.e. Tandem and with experience of other relational databases a plus • Solid skills with one or more programming language and design technique. • In addition, following specific skills: NonStop SQL/MP database design & tuning (advanced) NonStop ENSCRIBE database design & tuning NonStop database maintenance strategies (STATS, RELOAD, etc.) NonStop database performance tuning NonStop MEASURE analysis & tuning theory NonStop database file structure analysis & design Merlon Discover, MARS, and MRA software setup, configuration, and maintenance NonStop SQL/MP queue design, analysis, and tuning NonStop application performance tuning NonStop application SQLCOMP output analysis NonStop advanced distributed I/O performance theory NonStop database migration strategies NonStop Dataloader/MP NonStop OSS NonStop SQL/MX Planning for Installations / Implementations Consulting / Advising with Applications and Systems Support Providing Technical Support (Database) for the Application Planning for Disaster Recovery Vendor Interface for DBA functions / HP / Array / Third Parties Requirements BS Degree in Related Disciplines 5-8 Years Minimum Related, Recent Experience Tandem Training commensurate with Requirements Broad and Deep Knowledge, Experience and Analytical Abilities with HP / NSK Systems, the Operation of the System Software, Hardware, Communications, Software Tools, Systems Management Products in Support of the Pathway Management Objectives in a High Volume, Mission Critical, Real-Time Processing Payments Industry Application Please send your updated Resume to j...@mapleresource.net -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Open Source Erp & Crm" group.
