Need Oracle DBA Location :CO in Denver Duration: 3 months Skills: a. Minimum 5 years Oracle Windows Database Administration experience including tuning, monitoring, backup and recovery. b. Experience with Oracle running in a Windows 2008 clustered environment. c. Experience installing Oracle 11g and Oracle Patches. d. Excellent oral and written communication skills. e. Experience installing Failsafe in a Windows clustering environment. f. OEM Experience, including installation and configuration, in a Windows environment. g. Must be a self starter and an independent worker experienced with Windows server environment, Oracle 10g and 11g. h. Experience working with the CDOT databases a definite plus. *2. Duties* a. Create, test, and execute a plan to upgrade from Oracle Windows 10.2G to Oracle 11.2G including Failsafe and OEM in a virtual sandbox environment, development/beta environment, and Windows 2008R2 clustered environment. b. Monitor existing Oracle database clusters and systems and solve problems as necessary. c. This person will work under the guidance and direction of the existing Oracle Database Administrator. d. This person may work with other consultants to achieve a plan for the Oracle upgrade. e. This person will share in Remedy help ticket problem resolution. f. Perform database and procedure migrations from alpha to beta to production environments as well as from Production to a Virtual Sandbox Cluster for testing. g. Assist application teams with testing in each environment. h. Set up automatic scripts and alerts for database dataset monitoring, disk space monitoring, and logging alerts on Oracle. i. Mentoring junior Oracle members is a major part of this task, include providing short classes and job-aids, with an emphasis on using OEM to accomplish as much as possible but also providing native Oracle methods as back-up. j. Off-hours and week-end work will be required. The OIT (Office of Information Technology) CDOT Information Management Unit is responsible for supporting CDOT’s Oracle and SQL Server databases, including monitoring, maintenance, backup and recovery. In order to upgrade the current Oracle 10g environment to 11g, CDOT is in need of an experienced Oracle Windows resource to provide planning, leadership, database expertise, support, monitoring and problem-solving services, backup and recovery services, upgrading the quality of the documentation, and assist, and lead were necessary, an upgrade to 11.2G .
