Experience with developing Web Applications using current tools and methodologies. Mentor junior team members in J2EE / Java best practices. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree plus seven years of experience with Web Development and Architecture. Extensive experience developing Java applications with the Spring Framework (MVC, Data Access, AOP). Experience with Ruby on Rails development framework preferred. Extensive experience with MVC Frameworks like Spring, Struts, or JSF. Experience with Hibernate Persistence Framework preferred. Experience with Relational Databases especially Oracle and SQL Server. Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) preferred. Experience with OOA&D techniques and implementation strategies. Experience with general Web architecture, such as browsers, Apache Web server, and Tomcat Application server. Experience with continuous integration tools such as Hudson. Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience with version control systems such as SVN. Knowledge of cloud computing concepts preferred. Skills and Abilities Proven ability to design and develop Web based applications in a project driven environment. Proven experience mentoring others. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Must be a fast learner with a strong desire and motivation to learn about Yale and the higher education environment. Strong experience with UML artifacts (creating class, sequence diagrams, etc.) Ability to work either independently or closely with others as the needs of the project dictate. Must maintain a customer service and quality focus at all times. Experienced in Agile Development Methodology. Highly familiar with Software Development Lifecycle Methodology (SDLC). Must be highly adaptable to perform in a fast paced environment.
