Position:VMware/ Virtualization Engineer Location: Irvine, CA Duration:6+Months Job Description: This candidate will be primarily responsible for management and support of enterprise infrastructure and virtualization technologies and related storage infrastructure in support of SAP and a variety of other critical business applications. The candidate will be expected to build and maintain Microsoft Windows server images/templates and will need to have strong Windows infrastructure skills. They will be instrumental in gathering requirements and providing standardized solutions to various internal customers. The candidate must have a strong background in the use of scripting and automation. They will also provide guidance, staff support, and management of projects and tasks associated with multiple high priority and company critical projects. They will assist with hardware/software implementations, maintenance upgrades, system optimization, and work with the support services team in regards to providing next level support for system issues. The position will require the ability to manage simultaneous efforts and to support, mentor and cross-train other team members. Job Requirements: Minimum of seven years’ work experience with enterprise infrastructure technologies. Experience with SAP application and infrastructure architectures, SAN, platform technologies including Windows, Linux, and VMware virtualization solutions for SAP. Experience in SAP Virtualization, High Availability Design, and Disaster Recovery solutions SAP Basis knowledge is a plus Minimum of 4 years’ experience with virtualization technologies. A VMware VCP certification is a plus Competency in installing and configuring Windows Server Core is a plus Ability to present and articulate issues, value propositions, and solutions to Senior Management. Knowledge and experience with networking technologies, as well as Microsoft Windows Active Directory, GPOs, Microsoft SQL, and other enterprise systems. Excellent and proven skills in scripting and automation - with specific strengths in PowerShell as a plusSolid working knowledge of SAN storage infrastructure Strong knowledge of Windows client and server operating systems Linux/Unix experience a plus Must possess excellent analytical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills. Must have a strong customer service orientation.
