*Title: Cognos Developer* *Location: Portland, OR* *Duration: 3-4 months, maybe longer (NO H1B)* *Job Description:* The Developer works with the Business System Analyst, business owners and users to analyze requirements and to design, develop and test TM1 Solutions, Cognos Framework Manager and Reports. The Developer will also work with the BSA and participate in the QA and User Acceptance Testing process. The Developer is also responsible to provide analysis for production support issues and enhancements. The Developer also develops and maintains relationships with KU Tech’s customers, managers and technology partners. *Job Responsibilities: * Reviews requirements, provides detailed analysis and recommends reporting solutions. Enhance the existing reporting solution with new by developing FM models, packages, cubes and reports while leveraging best practices. Provide customer support on existing solutions through enhancements and issue resolution. Support the testing process by performing tests and documenting results. Provide technical specifications for objects developed. Essential Functions: Provide Information Management Solutions including analytics, dashboards and reports to support all levels of the company in making informative decisions that increase the bottom line through improved quality and services. Translate functional and technical requirements into a fully developed and tested product. Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and testability Participate in design and solution discussions that result in best-practices, processes and services. Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications – verbally or through written documentation to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood. Provide customer service by analyzing the data accuracy, efficiency and usage of existing solutions and provide support through continuous improvement, recommendations and modifications. *Adaptability Requirements:* Position requires a high degree of adaptability. Incumbent will be faced with a variety of issues on a day to day basis and will be expected to respond to these issues appropriately while dealing with multiple priorities and task assignments. *Working Conditions:* Work to be performed in a normal office environment during regular business hours. Extended work hours when necessary to support global development or to meet deadlines. *Experience and Education:* BS or BA in computer science, business, or equivalent is required 7+ years Data Warehouse experience 5+ hands on experience as Cognos Developer – Framework Manager, OLAP-Cubes, Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Query Studio 2+ years experience with TM1 Cube development including Turbo Integrator 2+ years’ experience with ETL tool, preferably Informatica or Data Manager 2+ years database query experience, preferably SQL, Toad or similar tool Relational Modeling experience is a plus Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong understanding of Data Warehouse concepts, methods and tools. Proven experience with Business Intelligence and Information Management solutions. Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development. Ability to balance people, process and technology concerns to achieve implementable solutions to business problems. Ability to work well with people of varying technical abilities. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent listening skills. Ability to anticipate customer needs Ability to interface and influence at all levels in the organization. Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) required. Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language. Ability to provide accurate time estimates for defined work and meet personal and team deliverables and timelines. Ability to drive process change within an organization and determine where it is appropriate to leverage technology in providing business solutions to our customers.
