Title: Tools Administrator - HP OV posted on 2014-07-22 13:59:54 Job Description:Job Description This role requires someone who has worked in a varied design and development role using HP Operation Manager and Performance tools such as OMU, OMW, OVPI, OVPM, OVPA, OV Reporter, Business Availability Centre as well as HP and 3rd parties SPIs. The candidate will be responsible for working on multiple projects to deliver design monitoring specifications and associated implementations into dev/pre-prod with agreed costs and timescales. Working closely with the designated solutions architects or nominated project resources, to ensure significant testing performed and produce final comprehensive documentation to support the implementation into live, meeting the necessary quality standards. Responsibilities: • Write complex scripts, templates/policies and configure other non standard HP OpenView features • Deliver comprehensive monitoring solutions. • Coordinating own and other teams activities to achieve projects targets. • Ownership/Maintain Roadmap, Domain Plan and monitoring Architectural Standards Knowledge, Skills and Experience Primary Skills (Must have) • Several years experience of configuring OMU, OMW, OVPI, BAC • Several years experience in configuring Manager Of Managers; • Exposure to a large scale monitoring environment. • Developing policies, scripts and any other OpenView features; • Good understanding of how to interface with UNIX, Windows and COTS software products. • Good understanding of management protocols such as SNMP, WMI and so forth • Development and maintenance of Perl scripts. • Ability to deliver comprehensive documentation in order to allow other team members to support/implement solutions • To be able to provide input to process improvement efforts. • To be able to follow change control processes: ITIL3 • Experience working with third party software suppliers • Ability to communicate effectively with project and 3rd party resources to deliver required solutions.
