Location: Rye, NY

Job description:
The role of the Lead Telecom Engineer within our client is to be a
leadership team member that is responsible for the technical vision,
strategy and architecture related to enterprise level voice
infrastructure.  The role has the following


Job Requirements: Responsibilities:
 - Communicate architecture strategies, principals, standards, policies and
procedures via standards documentation and regular communication to local
IT organizations.
 - Develop and review all technical designs and deliverables for a
project.
 - Lead in the evaluation and recommendation of third party products and
new technologies
 - Provide level1/2 support to the North America offices
 - Provide level 2/3 support to the locations globally.
 - Understand and keep up to date on industry trends, emerging technologies
and standards.
 - Work with Project Managers, Architects and Technical Team Leads to
manage delivery schedules.
 - Proactively identify opportunities for savings, simplification, and
modernization within telecom area
 - Manage infrastructure plan for system implementations and disposal.
 - Create and guide the design of complex telecom solutions involving Avaya
systems
 - Manage scope of projects, and mitigate and advertise risks as they
appear.
 - Support for after hours project work and team meetings as required.
 - Data Networking understanding required, to include a understanding of
Quality of Service (QoS), TCP/IP, Routing and Switching, Power Over
Ethernet (PoE) and MPLS use for Voice and Video over IP (VoIP).
 - Understanding of call center support platforms such as CMS, IVR, CTI,
and ACD
 - Provide daily support for operations functions such as web conferencing,
audio conferencing, telephone Move, Add, Change (MAC) support for
approximately 2000 users based in the Corporate offices, and software
solutions like IP Softphone, One-X mobile, Polycom CMA, Skype, Adobe
Connect.
Qualifications:









* - A Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in
telecommunications. - Avaya certification or extensive technical experience
with the following Avaya products: - Aura Communication manager. - Aura
Session Manager.  - Aura System manger.   - Modular Messaging. - Ability to
mentor and develop other engineers & architects. - Familiarity with ITIL
best practices. - A strong customer focus. - Experience with SIP trunking.*
